This Is Not For Me #2: Brideworld Expo, 3/14/10
I don’t understand anything about planning a wedding. Sure, I understand the broad strokes, but the lengths people go to in order to make their big day memorable? Totally over my head. Not to mention how people do it without going bankrupt. Time to figure out this terrifying social institution.
The Brideworld Expo in Pasadena boasts:
-Runway Fashion Shows
-Cake Tasting
-A dress code of “power-shopping casual” (?!)
However, unlike my previous outings, I won’t face this one alone. I’m entering this event with three actual brides-to-be (Tricia, Marlene, and Susannah) who are currently planning their own weddings. I can only hope that my incessant questions, iPhone photography, and scoffing doesn’t distract them from what’s really important: which font to use on their reception table numbers.
Liveblogging to start around 10-11am-ish, on Sunday.
